Representation of women's in politics
Women candidates appear less often in the media than their male equals. Political parties tend to not put women candidates in feasible positions.
There are many women who are willing to become candidates and it is probable that individuals desires are formed over a long period of time. The media sexism plays a vital role for women's political participation.
Women are still not given place of importance in politics and governance. As we all can see that there are many political parties led by men which indicates that as much as the African union has upgraded notably in its women representation within the numerous organs, the leadership of it's constituent states still lacks female state leaders. The sexism negatively affects women aptitude to conquer stereotype undermining their status and the upward movement of women in society.
And the women's percentage in parliament is 45% and what about the other 5%, we want the equality right?

I agree with you, it's been a while since women have been given the opportunity to be leaders in our society and take part in high mattered meeting just like parliament, women should also be given the opportunity to rule their own political parties or have equal seats in parliament, who knows even more then the men so that the sexist stereotype that men can do better jobs than women can be stopped and put to rest, women are highly capable of leading political parties and even leading the country.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you, it just that many people don't believe women can lead
DeleteThat is true...
ReplyDeleteYou are right, many women are being underestimated for what they can bring to the table. Being soft and strong is a combination a few have mastered, and women are that type. Surely as the years go by the percentage will increase and even greater then males because there many Upcoming independent women .
ReplyDeleteAnd that people got the mentality that they can't be led by women. I hope the percentage increase too

DeleteWomen are taken for granted. They are only celebrated in August. Until we have a female president women will remain misrepresented
ReplyDeleteYes, and that would be great
DeleteWe really need to change the narrative and take up space in politics and in leadership.
